Terms of use
Last updated: 17 July 2026
handwritten.blog ("the service", "we") turns your handwriting into a blog. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use the service. Keep your password and your secret posting address safe: anything published or done through your account is your responsibility.
Claim subdomains you intend to use. Squatting on names or hoarding subdomains isn't allowed, and blogs left empty for a long time may be reclaimed.
Your content
Everything you publish stays yours. We claim no ownership of your handwriting, your images, or your words.
So that the service can work, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display your content, and to distribute it (for example on your blog's pages and in its RSS feed), for the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from short-lived backups and caches.
You're responsible for what you publish. Only post what you have the right to post.
Posting by email
Each blog has a secret posting address. Treat it like a password: anyone who knows it can publish to your blog, and you can regenerate it in your settings if it leaks. Mail sent to the service is processed by us and by the email providers we use to run it.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service to publish unlawful content, to infringe other people's rights, to spam, or to interfere with the service or its infrastructure. We may remove content, or decline to host content, that breaks these rules or the law. We'd rather never have to.
Fees
The service is free today. We may introduce paid plans, or make some features paid, in the future. If that ever affects you, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before you're asked to pay anything, we won't charge you retroactively, and you'll always be able to take your content and close your account instead. Any paid features will come with their own pricing and payment terms.
Changes to the service
We may add, change, or remove features, or suspend or shut down the service. If a change would materially hurt your use of it, we'll try to give you reasonable notice.
Ending things
You can delete your blog, or your whole account, at any time from your settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law. Where practical we'll warn you first.
No warranties
The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it fast and available, but we can't promise it always will be. Please keep your original handwriting and your own copies of what you upload.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll announce it (by email or a notice on the site) before it takes effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
